Keshet Dance & Center for the Arts

Laura Orozco Garrett’s debut as a Company Dancer with Keshet Dance Company.

Anemoia. Noun. Nostalgia for a time or place one has never known.

Anemoia invites you to step into a world where nostalgia meets imagination. This work was inspired by artists of all ages who have never met (but have exchanged ideas and concepts virtually), exploring places they have never traveled and embodying movement from across borders where they have never been.

Boasting an impressive and multigenerational ensemble of over 40 dancers, with some taking their first steps onto the stage, this production embodies Keshet’s spirit of Community and the belief that the art and joy of dance is for everyone.

Rock of Ages

Devon Frieder Productions

Musical Theater Southwest

Constance Sack, Ensemble

A jukebox musical build around classic rock songs from the 1980s tells the story of a small-town girl, a city boy, and a rock ‘n’ roll romance on the Sunset Strip. But when the bar where rock reigns supreme is set to be demolished, it’s up to these wannabe rockers and their band of friends to save the day - and the music.

Jackie Comborde from Broadway World wrote “The ensemble is strong all the way through as well, and lend fantastic vocals and dance moves to keep the action going. It’s always exciting to see a local production where everyone seems completely engaged and in the moment; giving their all. I can’t remember the last time I saw a local musical that had such a high level of talend and commitment; kudos to all.” Read the full review here: Broadway World Review

W

Laura Orozco Garrett’s first full length play. She enjoyed brining the role of W to life and working closely and collaboratively with the cast and director.

John has been in a stable relationship with his boyfriend for a number of years. But when he takes a break, he accidentally falls love with a woman. Torn between the two, filled with guilt and conflicting emotions, he doesn’t know which way to turn. His boyfriend is willing to wait for him to make a decision, but so is his girlfriend. And both are prepared to fight to keep him. As the pressure mounts, a dinner with both parties is arranged, and everyone wants to know. Who is John? What is he? And what will his decision be? A comic discussion of identity and sexuality, the play is specified to be performed with no props or set, so the focus is all on the drama of the situation.
